In offshore environments, there is no room for approximation. Between permanent humidity, salt air, the risk of corrosion and sometimes very low temperatures, lifting accessories must demonstrate impeccable reliability.

It is in this demanding context that CODIPRO is renewing its DNV certification for its range of offshore lifting rings. This recognition confirms the ability of these products to meet the high demands of the maritime, offshore and wind energy sectors.

What is a DNV certification?

DNV is an independent international reference body, recognized in particular in the maritime, offshore, energy and industrial sectors. Its standards and certification processes aim to assess the compliance, reliability and safety of equipment intended for critical environments.

When an accessory has a DNV Type Approval certificate, it means that it has been tested according to demanding technical criteria, including its design, materials, manufacture, traceability and suitability for use in severe conditions.

For users, this certification represents a strong benchmark: it certifies that the product has been evaluated by a recognized independent third party, according to standards used in offshore and maritime applications.

Offshore rings designed for extreme conditions

CODIPRO offshore lifting rings have been developed to meet the specific requirements of the maritime, offshore and wind sectors. The “offshore” references of our DSR and DSS ranges are covered by a DNV GL Type Approval certificate, dedicated to offshore applications.

These environments impose particularly severe stresses:

  • Exposure to a saline environment
  • High risk of corrosion
  • Outdoor use and in variable conditions
  • Significant mechanical stress
  • Can be used at low temperatures

In such situations, the performance of a lifting ring is not limited to its Working Load Limit. The quality of the material, its toughness and its behaviour in the face of cold or corrosion are just as decisive for the safety of operations.

Resilient materials for maximum safety

The renewal of the DNV certification reinforces an essential point: you can be sure that you are using resilient materials, designed not to become brittle in restrictive environments. This resilience is a major criterion in offshore, where low temperatures and corrosive atmospheres can weaken insufficiently sized or ill-adapted equipment.

Do you need a lifting eye adapted to the offshore constraints?

Choosing a DNV-certified lifting ring means choosing an accessory designed to last, resist and secure operations where the constraints are greatest.
